That time I was snowboarding and started thinking about work

Entrepreneurship is like snowboarding.
You rationally and consciously decide to climb on the top of a mountain to see if you can make it down, using a tool designed to be everything but safe.
You have to be aware of who's already ahead of you (your competitors) and who's coming from behind (new, innovative, younger companies). And all needs to happen at the same time.
You must keep going no matter what the weather (the market). Otherwise, you'll freeze.
You can't focus on others even if they have fancier gear or are younger and go down so fast they look invincible.
Maybe they grew up snowboarding or perhaps received training from a younger age. It doesn't matter. Comparing yourself to others won't do you any good.
Mostly, it's all about the head.
Not only because you have to be focused on what you do and use your head but also because your head controls every other movement.
You can't put your legs first, or you'll trip.
You can put your shoulders first, or you'll fall.
Your head (aka you, as founder) tells the rest of the body when and how to move to avoid falling or at least to make it less painful.
Even if you have the coolest of gears, if world-class trainers trained you, or if you know that slope like the back of your hand... you will fall eventually. And you'll end up covered in the cold snow.
As we say in cybersec, it's not about IF; it's about WHEN. At some point, you will fall. Better work on how to make it less dramatic.
Then what?!
If you fall, brush it off, get back on your board, and go again.
Whether you are a "goofy" or a "regular," keep fighting the odds and try to get to the bottom alive.
